New Feature: Book to Movie Mania

New Feature!!!
Book to Movie Mania
Read-A-Thon, Excitement, and Anticipation

So, new feature here. It's all explained in the Features section. I'll include it in this post too. Here's what Book to Movie Mania is all about:

This new feature is for books being made into movies. Hence, the name Book to Movie Mania. As news comes out that a book is being adapted to film, then I will post that with other info in this feature. Also, as the movie's release date comes nearer I will host a read-a-thon or re-read-a-thon for the book. There will be movie news along with the read-a-thon such as trailers, stills, casting, news, and all that good stuff. I get so excited for my favorite books getting adapting to the big screen so I thought this feature would be so much fun!!

So, without further ado, the first Book to Movie Mania...is The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones!!

As probably a lot of you know, this is a really highly anticipated movie adaptation to Cassandra Clare's bestselling and wildly popular first book, City of Bones, in her series The Mortal Instruments. I, myself, am a HUGE fan of both her TMI and TID series. Suffice it to say, I am really, really, really, really excited!!! The lowdown of the read-a-thon for City of Bones is:

Going to be read in 20 days
Has 23 chapters
Has 448 pages (hardcover version)
Start Date: August 1, 2013
End Date: August 20, 2013
Movie Opens: August 21, 2013

For those of you who haven't read the book here's the cover and synopsis:

Provided by Goodreads:

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

And, here's the synopsis for the movie:

Provided by Fandango:

New York City teen Clary Fray (Lily Collins) learns that she is descended from a noble line of half-angel demon slayers known as the Shadowhunters, and joins their powerful ranks in a bid to rescue her missing mother (Lena Headey) from an alternate dimension known as the Downworld, where the terrifying creatures of legend roam free. Adapted from the popular series of novels by author Cassandra Clare, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones co-stars Robert Maillet, Kevin Durand, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, CCH Pounder, and Jared Harris. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
